What to Expect in a Clean Vessels Counseling Ministry Session

Clean Vessels Ministry believes that it is an honor and a responsibility to co-labor with the Lord to bring healing to areas of woundedness.   As co-laborers, it is vital to distinguish between that which God calls us to and that which God alone can accomplish.

The Biblical counselor will ask a few general questions about the person, but does not have to take an extensive inventory.  The Holy Spirit is the One who searches the mind.   We will ask Him to quicken the thought, word, memory, emotion, issue or even a physical sensation to the person seeking ministry.  When that is brought to mind, we will ask Jesus, the Light of the world, to illuminate whatever seems unclear.

The ministry session becomes a dialogue between the counselor, the one seeking ministry, and God.  Generally, we follow the “put off” and “put on” principle of Scripture.  If curses and judgments are put off, then we must put on blessings. Unforgiveness must be put off and forgiveness put on.  Sometimes the Lord makes it clear that there is unforgiveness towards someone. Unforgiveness must be put off and forgiveness put on.  Perhaps a vow must be renounced. Many times we must look at generational aspects.

Often people don’t understand the Biblical principles behind some of the prayers so instruction may be necessary. Our goal is to “work ourselves out of a job” so it is important to teach and demonstrate these principles so that the person can pray through future issues in themselves or others.  The amount of time that it takes for healing varies according to the complexity of the issues.  It has been our experience that there has been immediate relief and healing for the problems that were addressed in that session.
